Happy National Volunteer Week! Wishing all of our Salem Home Volunteers a very happy National Volunteer Week! Our team of dedicated volunteers recorded 2137 hours of helping to create special moments in the lives of the resident last year, however, our program is so much more than hours. Our program engages and encourages the greater community to connect with Salem Home residents through many different avenues. Advanced Care Plans are legal documents that detail who you want to make your health decisions in the event you cannot and what sorts of treatments you would want, such as a breathing tube, feeding tube, or only to be kept comfortable.

Created by @ambientactivity , ABBY engages residents in a variety of ways and can be completely customized! Our radio plays some of our residents favorite songs and the steering wheel lets us drive to Co-Op! You`ll find ABBY in the Heritage Room and on Evergreen.
If you drive a semi and can safe and legally record some dashcam footage to send our way, we would gladly appreciate it!

The very first grant Salem Home received from @unitedwaypembinavalley was funding for the creation of a Volunteer Coordinator position in the late 1980’s.
