Pharmacy Services
We receive Pharmacy services from Boundary Trails Health Centre. A designated Pharmacist visits Salem Home to participate in medication reviews. Pharmacological education sessions are also provided by the pharmacist.
Psychiatry Services
A Psychiatrist regularly visits the residents and participates on the care team of the Special Care Unit. The psychiatrist works with the team to ensure the resident experiences the best quality of life possible.
Psychology Services
A Psychologist participates on the specialized care team of the Special Care Unit. Bi-weekly visits ensure that behavior mapping and other issues are brought to the team for implementation in the resident care plans.
Resource Development
This program offers training and orientation for staff at Salem Home. Regular in-services are held on premises, informing our staff of the latest techniques and knowledge in the health care industry. The Resource Development Coordinator provides the module training for the Resident Care Attendant Course.
Life Program
The goal of the Life Program is simple – to enrich the daily lives of Salem Home’s residents. A team of dedicated staff and volunteers facilitate this program. Volunteer Services and the Adult Day Program also fall under the auspices of this program.
The Adult Day Program has 25 spots per week for participants from the community. This program offers socialization, recreational activities, nutritious meal services and the opportunity for outings for the participants. Click here to read the schedule.
Pastoral Care Services
Residents have the opportunity to attend chapel services four times a week. A full-time Pastoral Care Coordinator facilitates this program, conducting morning services, visiting residents and providing spiritual support for all of Salem Home. The Pastoral Care Coordinator also ensures that the churches of the Corporation and community provide Sunday morning Worship Services.
