We had a great time this season connecting with the @winklerflyers! They came to engage with us many times, we played games, taught players the rules of crokinole and Skip-Bo, and had many conversations and laughs. We watched practices, live-streamed games, and cheered as loud as we could!
We are incredibly proud of these young men, and wish them well in the @hockeycanada #CentennialCup

It’s April and we’re headed to the Nigeria🇳🇬🛩️
Each spring we catch travel fever and like to explore different cultures. This year we are “travelling” somewhere each month in March, April and May.
This week we tasted a delicious rice dish prepared by two of our staff members, Joy and Tolu.
Joy made joloff rice with plantain. Tolu mafe fried rice with chicken and it was delicious.

Community Engagement Volunteer Opportunities are more casual, generalized opportunities that require less commitment and qualifications. Last year, 74 volunteers recorded a total of 2137 hours of Resident Focused Volunteer Opportunities. These opportunities are the scheduled, structured opportunities that require specific screening, training and qualifications. Some examples of these opportunities include; helping the residents as they prepare a special meal together with Therapeutic Recreation staff, providing support and comfort for a resident going through their end of life journey, helping a resident with their meal, and many more.
