Resident Care

As a nurse, you will work with the latest technology when it comes to equipment, and do your charting in an electronic health record, the same as all other resident care team members. You will lead a team of Resident Care Attendants and other members of an interdisciplinary team in providing resident-focused care, within the Mission and Vision of Salem Home.

Your nursing skills and knowledge are vitally important as you assess and plan the care for those entrusted into your hands. You will have direct supervision of a Resident Care Manager, who will mentor you and help you to become the best version of yourself.

As a Resident Care Attendant (RCA) you will work with the latest technology and equipment and do your charting in an electronic health record, the same as all other resident care team members.  You will provide resident-focused personal care, within the Mission and Values of Salem Home. Your education, knowledge, and skills are vitally important as you implement the daily care for those entrusted into your hands. You will have direct supervision under the charge nurse and the Resident Care Manager, who will mentor you and help you become the best version of yourself.

As the Pastoral Care Coordinator, your ability to build relationships, trust, and connections with residents, staff, and the community will be key to your role. You will facilitate the resident-focused Pastoral Care Program at Salem Home, which is of upmost importance to our residents. This includes conducting weekday church services, providing morning devotions, conducting personalized visits with residents, and offering spiritual support to all residents and staff within the Mission and Values of Salem Home. You will engage with the community to coordinate and provide support and guidance to area churches who wish to participate in providing church services to the residents.

As a Therapeutic Recreation Attendant, your creative mind, and ability to connect with others, are your strongest assets. You will be a member of a close-knit team whose goal is to bring joy to the residents every day. By building relationships, you will support the psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being of those who call Salem their home. The recreation opportunities you provide will instil residents with a sense of purpose and belonging. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team, providing feedback that is vital to providing resident-focused care, within the Mission and Values of Salem Home. You will have the direct supervision of the Therapeutic Recreation Manager, who will be a mentor and encourage you to continue learning and growing.

As a Social Worker at Salem Home, your ability to build trust and connections with people will be your greatest asset as you are the first contact someone has when making the decision to move to Salem Home. You will arrange admissions and help with the transition into a Personal Care home, as well as provide support to residents and their families as they work through the many changes and decisions that this transition brings. You will build relationships with residents, families, staff, other facilities and community resources. You are part of the Leadership Team at Salem Home and your role lets you be an advocate for residents and a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. You will help with problem solving and conflict resolution and provide mental health and wellness support to staff.

As an Occupational Therapist at Salem Home, your ability to build relationships with residents and identify their mobility and independence goals are valued. You will work as part of the interdisciplinary team to provide resident-focused care, within the Mission and Values of Salem Home. You will conduct assessments and provide suggestions that are integral to resident-focused care. You will support the physical and psychosocial wellbeing of residents by ensuring the resident has the most efficient and comfortable equipment, tools, and additional supports. You will provide continued training and guidance to other members of the interdisciplinary team for safe resident transfers, exercise programs, and the use of new equipment and technology. You will build relationships with the residents as you strive to help them reach their mobility and independence goals.

As the Resource Development Coordinator at Salem Home, your ability to connect with individuals and identify the educational needs of the organization will be of great asset to you as you coordinate, plan, facilitate and prepared education for Salem Home staff. This education may be provided on site, virtually, or at an external location, all with an aim of striving for excellence in care.

Central to this role is building relationships and knowledge as you provide support and education to facilitate staff in a safe return to work following illness/injury through a developed plan specific to them. The relationships built with staff and residents allow you to facilitate the appropriate education to further enhance the resident-focused care environment within the Mission and Values of Salem Home.

As the Resource Development Facilitator at Salem Home, your ability to work as part of a team is critical. You will work with the Resource Development Coordinator as you assist with registration for education events, coordinate schedules and implement education plans. You will maintain accurate records to ensure staff have the education and support necessary to be able to provide resident-focused care within the Mission and Values of Salem Home.
