It’s been a long time coming but… sometimes things get delayed (oops!). The wall came down and the Cottonwood dining room is finally open!

Other parts of Cottonwood are still under construction, however the hardest part is done!

Just a reminder that it is cold and flu season. While visiting hours are still 10:30am - 8:00pm, we ask that you consider the needs of the residents who might be ill before you visit. When coming into Salem, take note of any new signs that have been posted. Please consult with the nurse on your loved ones care area to see what type of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required. You can check our website (link in bio) for links to refresh yourself on how to properly donn(apply) and doff (remove) PPE. If you have any symptoms of illness (headache, sore throat, new cough, etc) please stay home. Let’s all do our part to keep our residents safe. If you have any questions you can contact Salem Home.

Remember that before you can extend love and kindness to others, you must first start this practice with yourself because the more compassion you can direct to yourself, the more you have within you to offer it to others. And this world can definitely use more love and kindness right now.

We’ve seen how acts of kindness spread and multiply. In fact, when we witness an act of kindness, our body interprets it as though we were the recipient. It’s as though that kindness is being offered to us. Kindness is powerful beyond measure, so we begin with ourselves and then we share it with others.

The greatest work that kindness does to others, is that it makes then kind themselves. So, what are you going to do today to be kind to yourself and someone around you?

Last week Salem hosted students for “Take Your Kid To Work Day” and nearly every student agreed they had the most fun with our caring and enthusiastic laundry team!

Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. Revelation 22:14
