In 1956, a group of Mennonite churches in the Winkler area came together with one shared purpose: to make sure no one in their community would face old age without care, dignity, and a place to belong. Seventy years later, that promise is still being kept, one resident, one family, one staff member at a time.

This November, we’re marking that milestone the way Salem does best: together, around a table.

Save the Date: Salem’s 70th Anniversary Celebration Dinner

  • Date: Sunday, November 8, 2026
  • Doors open: 5:00 PM | Dinner served: 5:30 PM | Evening concludes at 8:30 PM
  • Location: Winkler Bergthaler Fellowship Hall, 252 6th Street, Winkler, MB

This is more than a dinner. It’s an evening set aside to honour seven decades of care, remember the people and churches who made it possible, and look ahead to what’s next for Salem Home.

Your Ticket Does More Than Get You a Seat

Every ticket purchased goes directly toward Salem Home’s ongoing mission of dignified, high-quality care, and this year, it’s also fueling something new: our Supportive Housing project, built to give seniors and individuals with health needs a safe, supportive place to live while keeping their independence. It’s the same instinct that started this all in 1956: seeing a need in our community and building something to meet it.

Reserve Your Seat

  • Early Bird: $35/person or $280 for a table of 8, available until October 1st, 2026
  • General Admission (after October 1st): $40/person

Can’t make it but still want to be part of the celebration? A donation in place of attendance is always welcome.

Seventy years ago, this community decided to take care of its own. On November 8th, we invite you to celebrate what that decision has built, and help us build what comes next.
