We’re MASH Certified – Here’s What That Means for Salem Home

We’re incredibly proud to share some exciting news: Salem Home has officially passed the MASH (Manitoba Association for Safety in Healthcare) audit—and not just passed, but did so with flying colours, earning an overall score of 86%!

This certification is much more than a plaque on the wall. It reflects months—and really, years—of commitment, collaboration, and care from every member of our team. From housekeeping to healthcare aides, administration to maintenance, everyone played a role in making this achievement possible.

Why This Matters

MASH certification is a rigorous process that evaluates safety practices in healthcare settings across Manitoba. It looks at how well we communicate and live out safety protocols, respond to emergencies, conduct inspections, and train our staff—just to name a few. In short, it ensures that residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors are in a place where safety is woven into everything we do.
